Is your child struggling? Do you feel unable to help? Call Keb Neff, LCSW
It can be intimidating for families to take the first step in seeking help.  I am happy to offer a complimentary consultation by phone to help determine whether counseling may be beneficial for your child and family.
Fees:  My fee is $185. per session.  I accept cash, checks and credit cards.  If finances are a concern, please contact me to discuss reduced rate options.

Insurance: I am an in-network provider for Aetna.   For other insurance plans, I will provide a receipt which you may be able to submit to your insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement.  In order to determine if you are eligible for out-of-network coverage, you should contact your insurance carrier with the following questions:

  •  What are my outpatient mental health benefits?

  •  Does my policy offer out-of-network benefits?

  •  What is my deductible and has it been met?

  •  How many sessions are permitted per year?

  •  Is approval required from my primary care physician?

I use a variety of techniques in my work with children and adolescents.  With younger children, play therapy* is the foundation of my approach.  Older children and teens may also respond to a playful approach but others prefer more traditional insight oriented 'talk therapy'.  I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), pediatric OCD including exposure and response prevention (EPR)*, EMDR*, SPACE*, and sand tray and use these approaches with many children and young people.  I consult with parents throughout treatment to address family approaches to the presenting concerns and behavioral needs.

*Play Therapy: Play is as essential to healthy development as nutrition and safety. Play helps children be creative, learn problem-solving skills and learn self-control.  In therapy with children, play is often the best vehicle for expression of feelings and concerns.  Play therapy allows children to access their innate capacity for healing. The therapist's role in this approach is to assess and interpret the child’s play themes and utilize for behavioral and emotional growth.

*ERP:  "
The exposure component of ERP refers to practicing confronting the thoughts, images, objects, and situations that make you anxious and/or provoke your obsessions. The response prevention part of ERP refers to making a choice not to do a compulsive behavior once the anxiety or obsessions have been “triggered.” "(International OCD Foundation). *SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions): SPACE is a parent based treatment  for anxiety which focuses reducing parental accommodation and increasing supportive responses.  For more information about SPACE please visit: https://www.spacetreatment.net/

*EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing): EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that may accelerate treatment and resolution of presenting issues.   EMDR is used to help people heal from trauma or adversities such as depression, anxiety, phobias, bullying, grief/loss, attachment wounds, trauma and many other complicated life issues.
